2011 LEWT Finale
The Crown Battery, Sharpnack Chevrolet, Buick and Pontiac Lake Erie Walleye Trail (LEWT) will hold their Championship event on June 4th and 5th in Huron. The teams can expect good weather and an even better bite that is starting to develop on the lake.
In addition to the first place tournament payout the Medina Plating Early Bird Award of $150 will go to the highest finishing Early Bird team at the tournament. Sharpnack Chevrolet-Buick will also be awarding $150 to the top finishing team that owns a vehicle from them.
In the race for the Team of the Year Randy Eyre and Nick Meisner hold the lead with 390 points. Jerome Dorlack and Todd Miller and Jay Gullet and Scott Geitgey are tied for second with 388 points. Rounding out the top five are Rob Cline and Dennis Kitchen with 386 and Charlie Robinson and Mike Zaborski with 384. It is still anyone’s race to win with only 18 points separating the top 10.
“We expect to see an exciting finish to the year with the point race being so tight” commented WBSA Treasurer and Secretary Chris Williams. She continued “The public is invited to join us at the Huron Boat Ramp both days at 3 PM for the weigh in.”
The WBSA is a Social based Club for fishermen and women that fish in the Western & Central Basin of Lake Erie and its tributaries. Membership is open to all fisher people no matter what their location. Our goal is to present information in a manner that will help sustain and improve fishing in one of the greatest inland sport fisheries in the world. Scientific information, fishing techniques, locations and presentations are presented at our meetings by expert and knowledgeable speakers and tournament anglers in our group. These anglers are very open with techniques and methods and will help any member that is trying to learn new methods.
